´ë»ê¹®È­Àç´ÜÀº ´ë»ê ½Å¿ëÈ£ ¼±»ý(ÓÞߣ ãåéËûÛ)ÀÇ ¶æ¿¡ µû¶ó "¹ÎÁ·¹®È­ â´Þ"°ú "Çѱ¹¹®ÇÐÀÇ ¼¼°èÈ­"¿¡ À̹ÙÁöÇÏ°íÀÚ ±³º¸»ý¸íº¸ÇèÁÖ½Äȸ»çÀÇ Ã⿬À¸·Î ⸳µÇ¾ú½À´Ï´Ù.

 

The Daesan Foundation is supporting institutions and individuals who propose projects in the area of Korean literature studies overseas to promote the growth of a wider understanding and interchange of Korean literature and culture. Those concerned with the area of Korean literature studies are encouraged to participate in the program.

The Daesan Foundation, which is funded by the Kyobo Life Insurance Co., Ltd. was founded by Daesan, Yong-Ho Shin(honorific name Daesan meaning Great Mountain) to contribute to fostering of Korea's national culture and globalizing of Korean literature.

 

¥°. ÇÁ·Î±×·¥ ¾È³» General Information

 

    º» Àç´ÜÀº ´ÙÀ½ »çÇ׿¡ µû¶ó ÇØ¿ÜÀÇ Çѱ¹¹®ÇÐ ¿¬±¸¸¦ Áö¿øÇÕ´Ï´Ù.

    The Daesan Foundation offers support for research in Korean literature studies projects as follows:

 

1. ¸ñÀû Purpose

 

 - º» »ç¾÷Àº ÇØ¿Ü¿¡¼­ÀÇ Çѱ¹¹®ÇÐ ¿¬±¸¿Í ±×¿Í °ü·ÃµÈ Á¦¹ÝÈ°µ¿¿¡ ´ëÇÑ Áö¿øÀ» ÅëÇÏ¿© Çѱ¹¹®     Çבּ¸ÀÇ È°¼ºÈ­¿Í Çѱ¹¹®È­¿¡ ´ëÇÑ ÀÌÇØÁ¦°í¸¦ ¸ñÀûÀ¸·Î ÇÕ´Ï´Ù.

   The purpose of the program is to promote research in Korean literature studies and to support related activities, with a view to increasing the knowledge of Korean culture overseas.

  6) ±âŸ Çѱ¹¹®ÇÐ ÁøÈïÀ» À§ÇÑ °ü·Ã¿¬±¸ ¹× »ç¾÷ Various other projects for promoting Korean literature

 

3. ½ÅûÀÚ°Ý Qualification of Applicants

 - ÇØ¿Ü¿¡¼­ Çѱ¹¹®ÇÐÀ» ¿¬±¸ÇÏ°í ÀÖ´Â ±³¼ö, ¿¬±¸ÀÎ, Çлý, ¿¬±¸±â°ü, Çѱ¹¹®ÇÐ ¹ø¿ª°¡

   Any professor, researcher, student or institute working in the area of Korean literature, and any translator of Korean literature.

 

4. Áö¿ø´ë»óÀÚ ¼±¹ß Selection Process

 - Á¢¼öµÈ Áö¿ø½Åû¼­¿¡ µû¶ó º» Àç´ÜÀÇ ½ÉÀÇÀ§¿øȸ¿¡¼­ ½ÉÀÇ, ¼±¹ßÇÕ´Ï´Ù.

   The applications will be screened by a screening committee.

 

5. Áö¿ø´ë»óÀÚ Number of Grants

 - ¾à°£¸í A small number of institutes and individuals.

 

6. Áö¿ø±Ý Amount of Grant

 - ½ÉÀÇ°á°ú¿¡ µû¶ó Áö¿ø±ÝÀ» °áÁ¤, Áö±ÞÇÕ´Ï´Ù. Actual amounts of grant will be decided in the screening process.

 

7. ½Åû±â°£ Application Period

 - 2004³â 5¿ù 3ÀÏ(¿ù) ¡­ 8¿ù 31ÀÏ(È­) Applications should be sent to the Foundation between May 3 and August 31, 2003.

9. °á°ú¹ßÇ¥ Announcement of Results

 - 2004³â 10¿ùÁß °³º°Å뺸 The results of the committee's screenings will be announced in October, 2004 and communicated to the individuals and institutes concerned.

 

10. Áö¿ø±â°£ Time Frame

 - Áö¿ø±â°£Àº 1³âÀ» ¿øÄ¢À¸·Î Çϳª 1³â ÀÌ»óÀÇ ±â°£ÀÌ ¼Ò¿äµÉ °ÍÀ¸·Î ÆÇ´ÜµÉ ¶§¿¡´Â Àç´ÜÀÇ ½ÂÀÎÀ» ¹Þ¾Æ ¿¬Àå°¡´ÉÇÕ´Ï´Ù.

   The normal time frame of a project is one year. but this may be extended by prior agreement of the Foundation in particular cases.

 

11. Áö¿ø±Ý Áö±Þ Awarding of Grants

 - Áö¿ø±ÝÀº ½ÉÀÇÀ§¿øȸÀÇ ÀÇ°ß¿¡ µû¶ó ÀϽà ¶Ç´Â ºÐÇÒÁö±ÞÇÕ´Ï´Ù. ºÐÇÒÁö±ÞÀÇ °æ¿ì, Áö¿øÀÌ °áÁ¤µÈ ÈÄ 50%¸¦ Áö±ÞÇϸç, ÀÜ¿©ºÐ 50%´Â °á°úº¸°í¼­¸¦ Á¢¼ö, °ËÅäÇÑ ÈÄ »ç¾÷ÀÇ ÁøÇà°á°ú¿¡ µû¶ó Áö±Þ½Ã±â¸¦ Á¶Á¤ÇÏ¿© Áö±ÞÇÕ´Ï´Ù. Áö¿ø±ÝÀº ±¹³»¼¼¹ý¿¡ µû¶ó ¼¼±ÝÀ» °øÁ¦ÇÏ°í Áö±ÞÇÕ´Ï´Ù.

   Grants can be awarded, following the screening committees recommendation, either in a lump sum or in two moieties. In the latter case, one half of the total grant will be awarded in advance and the remaining amount after receiving and reviewing the final report. Applicable tax will be deducted from the grant in accordance with the provisions of Korean tax law.   

 

12. Áß°£º¸°í¼­ ¹× °á°úº¸°í¼­ Interim and Final Report

 - Áö¿ø¹ÞÀº ÀÚ´Â Áö¿ø±Ý ¼ö·ÉÀϷκÎÅÍ 6°³¿ù À̳»¿¡ Áß°£º¸°í¼­¸¦, »ç¾÷Á¾·á¿Í ÇÔ²² °á°ú º¸°í¼­¸¦ Á¦ÃâÇÏ¿©¾ß ÇÕ´Ï´Ù.

   Grant recipients are required to submit interim reports within six months after receiving the first installment of the grant and final reports upon completion of the project.

 

13. ¿¬±¸°á°ú¹° Research Results

 - º» Àç´ÜÀº ¿¬±¸°á°ú ¹× º¸°í¼­¸¦ Çѱ¹¹®ÇÐÀÇ ¼¼°èÈ­ ¹× Çѱ¹¹®È­ ¼±¾çÀ» À§ÇÑ °£Ç๰ ¹ß°£ µî¿¡ ÀÌ¿ëÇÒ ¼ö ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù.

   The Foundation may utilize the project results through publications etc. in order to promote the globalization of Korean literature and to enhance the understanding of Korean culture.

 

14. Àǹ« Obligations

 - Áö¿ø¹ÞÀº ÀÚ´Â ´ÙÀ½ »çÇ×À» ¼º½ÇÈ÷ ÀÌÇàÇÏ¿©¾ß ÇÕ´Ï´Ù.

   Those who receive support will faithfully abide by the following regulations:

   1) Áö¿ø¹ÞÀº ÀÚ°¡ Áö¿ø±â°£ Áß »ç°í, Áúº´ µîÀÇ ½Å»óº¯µ¿ »çÇ×ÀÌ ÀÖ¾î Á¤»óÀûÀÎ ¿¬±¸È°µ¿ÀÌ °ï¶õÇÑ °æ¿ì º» Àç´Ü¿¡ ¼­¸éÀ¸·Î º¸°íÇÏ¿©¾ß ÇÕ´Ï´Ù.

      Those who for reasons of illness or accident are not able to continue a project will notify the Foundation in writing.

   2) Áö¿ø¹ÞÀº ÀÚ´Â Áßµµ¿¡ ¿¬±¸°úÁ¦¸¦ º¯°æÇÒ ¼ö ¾ø½À´Ï´Ù.

      Projects may not be altered subsequent to support being granted.

   3) ¿¬±¸´Â ±â°£ ³»¿¡ ¿Ï°áÇÏ¿©¾ß ÇÔ. ´Ü, »çÀüÇùÀÇ¿¡ ÀÇÇØ ÇÊ¿ä°¡ ÀÎÁ¤µÉ °æ¿ì 1³â¿¡ ÇÑÇÏ¿© ¿¬Àå°¡´ÉÇÕ´Ï´Ù.

      Projects should be completed within the time assigned. But extensions are possible subject to prior agreement.

   4) ¿¬±¸°á°ú¸¦ ÃâÆÇÇϰųª ±âŸ Áö¸é¿¡ °ÔÀçÇÒ ¶§¿¡´Â º» Àç´ÜÀÇ ¿¬±¸Áö¿øÀ» ¹Þ¾ÒÀ½À» Ç¥±âÇÏ¿©¾ßÇÕ´Ï´Ù.

      All published research results, books or articles should acknowledge the financial upport of the Foundation.

  1) Á¦ÃâÇÑ ¼­·ù´Â ¹ÝȯÇÏÁö ¾Ê½À´Ï´Ù. Application forms and materials submitted to the Foundation will not be returned.

  2) Áö¿øÀÌ È®Á¤µÈ ÈÄ, ´ÙÀ½ °¢ È£¿¡ ÇØ´çÇÏ´Â »çÀ¯°¡ ¹ß°ßµÇ°Å³ª ¹ß»ýÇÏ¿´À» °æ¿ì¿¡´Â º» Àç´ÜÀº È®Á¤µÈ Áö¿ø±ÝÀÇ Áö±ÞÀ» Ãë¼Ò, Áß´ÜÇϰųª ÀÌ¹Ì Áö±ÞÇÑ Áö¿ø±ÝÀÇ ÀüºÎ ¶Ç´Â ÀϺθ¦ ¹ÝȯÇÏ°Ô ÇÒ ¼ö ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù.

     After being selected as a recipient of support from the Foundation, disbursement of funds may be rescinded or halted or recipients may be asked to return previously disbursed funds in whole or in part for the following reasons:

      a. ½Åû ¶Ç´Â º¸°í»çÇ׿¡ ÇãÀ§»ç½ÇÀÌ ¹ß°ßµÇ¾úÀ» ¶§ False declaration in the application submission.

      b. Áö¿ø±ÝÀ» ¸ñÀû ¿Ü¿¡ »ç¿ëÇÏ¿´À» ¶§ Funds applied for purposes other than those stated in the application submission.

      c. ±âŸ ºÎ´çÇÏ´Ù°í ÀÎÁ¤µÇ´Â ÇàÀ§°¡ ¹ß°ßµÇ¾úÀ» ¶§Other illegal acts.

 3) ±âŸ ÇÊ¿äÇÑ »çÇ×Àº Àç´ÜÀÌ Á¤ÇÏ´Â ¹Ù¿¡ µû¸¨´Ï´Ù. The Foundation may make other stipulations as deemed necessary.

   The signing of the application form by an individual or an institute will be taken as acceptance of the obligations entailed in the project.
