The Han River Literary Festival 2010
The Han River Literary Festival 2010 is one part of the Han River Renaissance Project, which aims to transform the Han River into a living space, as well as a cultural arts area comfortable to citizens, all in celebration of the ¡°World of Water.¡±
This endeavor started in 2009 to create a literary festival scene where art and recreation could hold hands, where new powers of imagination and stories could be refined, stored, and flow at Sunyoudo Park, a park that was originally a filtration plant but recycled into a park. The Foundation and the Seoul Metropolis Han River Project Headquarters co-hosted this festival, and the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture and the Traffic Broadcasting System (TBS) sponsored. The festival opened for two days on October 9 (Saturday) and October 10 (Sunday) at Sunyoudo Park in the Hangang embracing the theme, ¡°Literature, Flowing at Sunyou Island.¡± The main programs included the opening ceremony, unveiling of the Han River Declaration, a Literary Walk with Writers, the Han River Literary Award, and a literature expo among others.
